Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and I know the greatest tradition of all the traditions would be that I will need to be grateful for everything in my life. I can never remember a Thanksgiving like I have had this past week.

I received this from my father, 'Thank you Dad' and I wanted to share it with you. I pray that this will help remind me how grateful I truly need to be.

A 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud man, who is fully dressed each morning by eight o'clock, with his hair fashionably combed and shaved perfectly, even though he is legally blind, moved to a nursing home today. His wife of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary. After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, he smiled sweetly when told his room was ready.

As he maneuvered his walker to the elevator, I provided a visual description of his tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on his window.
'I love it,' he stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy.
'Mr. Jones, you haven't seen the room; just wait.'
'That doesn't have anything to do with it,' he replied.
'Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged. It's how I arrange my mind. I already decided to love it. 'It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice; I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do.
Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open, I'll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I've stored away just for this time in my life.
Old age is like a bank account. You withdraw from what you've put in.
So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories!
Thank you for your part in filling my Memory bank. I am still depositing.
Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
1. Free your heart from hatred.
2. Free your mind from worries.
3. Live simply.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less.

Happy Thanksgiving...

The world has gone crazy over this book & 'movie' including all of my daughters. Michelle is the last daughter reading the first book, and I don't think she has put the book down all day. I was invited to go with the group to see the movie, but I have not even read the first book yet. I have to admit now, I wish I would have gone. And yes I will read the books. I have never been excited about VAMPIRES... But who knows maybe I'll change my mind! LOL

Good morning Grandma & Aunt Michelle

Sleep over with Grandma And Aunt Michelle. We both woke up to a lot things happening. First a mishap with a broken cup, sent aunti flying up the stairs, after she heard a big crash, but grandma was there, no problem. So Aunti Shell got little Launa snuggled up in a blanket to watch some morning time cartoons, thought she would go back downstairs to get some shuteye, came flying back upstairs shortly after she dozed off again, by hearing a loud clamp clamp clamp coming from the upstairs floor. Little Launa had found Aunt Michelles high heels, brought them upstairs, slipped each foot into both high heels with out falling and was stomping throught out the house 'hardwood floors'. Breakfast ended up beng a kit kat bar. YUM YUM Way to keep Aunt Chell on her toes Miss Launa. What a sweetie...

Happy Thanksgiving Text Pictures, Images and Photos I can remember driving to my grandmother's house for Thanksgiving, just like it was yesterday. We had so much fun just the drive there was fun. We would play road games, one of my favorite games was we had to look on the mountains and spot the 7'11 signs. They where every where. If you spot it first, then you would get a quarter. Just as we would approach the home stretch, there was a special mountain that looked like sleeping beauty, we would look and search for her. My dad always knew right where she was. He would tell us if we where right or not. Then just as we where really close to grandma's house we would all break into singing over the river and through the woods to grandmas house we go. My father loved to sing, and he would sing with us all the time. Pulling into Grandma Walls house in Altamont, Utah was always so exciting. My cousins would always come running, and greet us. They would be running from every where. We had a lot of cousins that lived close by Grandma Wall. I am so very thankful for those memories, and for the fun we always had. I was trying to guess just how many cousins I had, there where so many of us, and we all played so well together. My dad had alot of brother's and sister's. This might take a second, lets see if I can give you a rough idea, just how many little cousins I had, pretty close to all the same age too. I have counted a few times, and I keep coming up with 15 cousins, that we played with and that is not including myself, and my two other sister's Jackie and Patty. That is alot of noise. I'm so grateful for Thanksgiving memories.

My American Prayer...

Barack Obama: 44th U.S. President

President-elect Barack Obama waves to the crowd after his acceptance speech at Grant Park in Chicago, Ill. on Election Night. Obama is the first African-American to ascend to the nation's highest office as the 44th president of the United States. "It's been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this day, in this election, at this defining moment, change has come to America," Obama said in his acceptance speech, echoing a key theme of his campaign.

The excitement that Mr. Obama generated among his supporters suggests a capacity to inspire and reassure a worried and divided nation. His efficient, disciplined and, at times, ruthless campaign suggests a capacity to manage a government beset by problems of unimaginable complexity. And his combination of intelligence and eloquence, along with his evident instincts for consensus, offers hope that he can provide the leadership the nation so badly needs.

President Obama waits for the decision with family and friends.

I have been glued to MSNBC on my computer for hours. I have on my proud sponsored sweatshirt, for good luck.
The house is really quiet. I am getting exciting text msgs from my sister Jackie in CO. They are having a hugh election bash at the home of some great friends of her's. They have the election cake, the flags, a hugh map to color in as the polls are read and come in.
She is trying really hard to make sure I am a part of this great event. Thanx sis...

Inspiring Words.

* What you put out comes back all the time, no matter what.
* You define your own life. Don't let other people write your script.
* When people show you who they are, believe them the first time. (A lesson from Maya Angelou.)
* What you believe has more power than what you dream or wish or hope for. You become what you believe.
* If the only prayer you ever say is thank you, that will be enough
* The happiness you feel is in direct proportion to the love you give.
* Failure is a signpost to turn you in another direction.
* If you make a choice that goes against what everyone else thinks, the world will not fall apart.
* Trust your instincts. Intuition doesn't lie.
* Every day brings a chance to start over.
* Doubt means don't. Don't move. Don't answer. Don't rush forward.
* When you don't know what to do, get still. The answer will come.
* Trouble don't last always. This, too, shall pass.
